A “tateba” is a rest stop such as a teahouse that is established between postal towns. Located right in the middle of Fujieda Station and Shimada Station, Seto was a station where many travelers took a rest, with teahouses offering a famous delicacy known as “colored rice (Someii)” to soothe their tired bodies. While the street may have changed its form together with the times, the imposing pine trees along the old Tokaido remain, and there are also facilities for learning the history and culture of the Seto area, including "semeia".
