These ruins are from the Nara era (710 - 794) and Heian era (794 - 1185), located between the former Tokaido Fujieda-juku and Seto (stand). The Shida Plain during the Nara and Heian era had a wetland called Shidanoura in its center, while it seems the western part of the plain was considered to be the Shida District. From the items excavated in 1977, it was found that these were the ruins of a government office in Shida District called the “District Office”. Buildings, gates, wooden fences, stone roads, etc. have been restored, so you can learn about how it was in the past in person. (Nationally designated historic site)
