Materials mainly on "Someii (colored rice)", a specialty of Tokaido, and "Senganzutsumi", a large embankment, are on display. The history of Someii, a type of rice (like a rice ball) dyed yellow by dried gardenia fruits goes all the way back to the Warring States period, gaining popularity as a food that is effective in soothing tired feet and bodies. The Sengan embankment is an embankment built by spending a huge amount of money in order to protect the village from inundation of the Oigawa River over a length of 360 m. A part of it still remains and has been designated a historic landmark of the city.
